The following are guidelines for the program, however, upon request training can be customized to meet the needs of your group.

Rates*

In Wisconsin - $1,200 per day per trainer (expenses included)

Outside of Wisconsin - $1,200 per trainer per day + expenses (mileage, lodging, & meals)

Participants

Can have up to 15 participants per trainer

Length of Session

Total: 6-8 hours
Indoors: 2-3 hours (May be held outdoors, weather permitting)
Outdoors: 5-6 hours

Training Needs

Indoor: Meeting room large enough to fit group comfortably

Outdoor: Wooded site with at least one tree per participant and one or more trees for the trainer of varying sizes to cut. Ideally field site will be away from homes, power lines, traffic, etc.

Equipment

All participants must wear hardhats, eye protection, and ear protection at all times during field portion of the day. While using the chain saw, participants must also wear cut resistant boots and chaps/protective pants. (Personal Protective Equipment or PPE) Participants may bring their own equipment, saw, and tools if in good working condition. FISTA has chaps and saws available for use at each session.

8. Move to outdoor field site. Trainer will address hazards observed as he enters the jobsite.

9. Tree Felling (demonstration)

A Chainsaw Safety Training Guide and a certificate of participation will be distributed during the program.
